Hello All, Welcome to my blog!
The reason I’ve created this blog is to share and get feedback on my experiments with machine learning. I’ve recently started learning about neural networks, and since I’m involved in the visual effects industry, I thought it could be fun to try and find some practical applications within the field. A first real post will come soon!

Awesome blog! Been thinking a lot about ML and CG lately. Houdini has hinted at something ML related in the not-too-distant past. Exciting times! Keep up the great work!
Thanks! I think ML is here to stay so let’s use it to our advantage. I hope that Side FX finds a way to implement node based ML, it could really enable VFX artists to start inventing new AI tech.
Hey Neural!
Cool blog! I’m a CG generalist student finishing up my education. Do you think Machine Learning can be picked up by Technical Artists while working that have a strong foundation in Python / Multi-Variable Calculus / Linear Algebra / Cliffords Algebra?
I don’t have a formal CS or A.I. background, but I have technical skills and art skills.
I only realized after studying animation that I really love the technical side of things!
I sure hope I can keep up with how things are changing!
Thanks!
With the collection of skills you just outlined,”Python / Multi-Variable Calculus / Linear Algebra / Cliffords Algebra”, you should have no problem getting started learning ML/AI. In fact, you can build and deploy models without having a math background at all, but having it will help gain an advantage. If you want a major advantage, then you may want to study some Statistics and Probability Theory also.
